Cracked screen repair resulted in inoperable iPad mini

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I took in an iPad mini for a screen replacement at West Towne mall in Madison, WI. The screen was replaced.

The service told me not to turn it on until I got back home to allow the sealant to dry, but the iPad Would not turn on when I arrived home about 30 min later. I immediately drove back to the mall and the service rep accused me of breaking it after the repair in order to get a new iPad. They took my iPad and said they would investigate. I received a call from the company several days later again insinuating I was trying to rip them off and get a new iPad.

I'm a 63 year old grandmother with 3 grandchildren.

I trusted this company to fix my screen and now I have nothing. Meanwhile, its 2 weeks without my iPad and I am growing very dissatisfied each day.

Insane return policy

Purchased a laptop battery. A couple of weeks later, the laptop dies completly.

Because of a work trip, I was not able to return the battery for another couple of weeks. They would not even talk to me about returning it because I was past their 14 day return policy. Owner of the store was very rude. He told me that my laptop problems were not his problem, and that he did not "rent" batteries.

There is nothing wrong with this battery, and it was never used more than a couple of hours. If I had used it all the time for 13 days, he would have returned it without issue.

But use it for a couple of hours over 30 days, and I get this ***. I will *NEVER* do business with a Batteries+ again.

It is not their fault your laptop died. It is not their fault that you did not get the battery back within the return policy.

It is not their responsibility to pay for your problem that was not in any way caused by them. The manager was correct in telling you that they do not "rent" batteries.

They have no way of knowing if what you say is true about how much you used it etc. What they do have is a policy that the employees are required to follow to prevent fraud against the company.

Guest

So you're mad because their return policy was 2 weeks and you couldn't get your money back after having it over a month? How are they supposed to sell a battery that has been used for over a month?

How would you feel if when you were buying it they told you they were selling you a battery that had been previously used for over a month for who knows how long per day and what the previous "renter" could've done to harm the battery. I'm sure you wouldn't want to buy it then...

I bought a battery plus battery item number XT9-B for my four wheeler and it would not take a charge so I took it back and they tried every way they could to not warrant the battery said it was out of warranty after six months but I argued with them and finally the manager said go ahead and warranty the battery. Now FIVE months later this battery will not take a charge and they are giving me the run around again .

THis battery is a piece of junk. I want my original fifty dollars back are they can give mr a battery that will last longer .

Batteries Plus Manager Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Manager and employee saw me (a woman) come in. I waited while a phone call somehow required both of them. Then a guy came in. Manager immediately asks the guy what he needs help with. Continued to ignore me. This rudeness extends to many people other than women. Take your business elsewhere--there are many other places in Boise who do what these guys do, only much better.

Incompetant battery replacement

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Agreed to spend $59 to put a battery in my iphone5. After they put the wrong one in twice (One for a 5S or 5C model) I picked up a $5 battery on ebay. and replaced it myself. Store was thomas rd in phoenix. What was also funny was a lady came in and just wanted to recycle her old alkaline batteries. They said they would charge her $7 to take them back. They clearly lost a customer for life in that little conversation. Ridiculous policies at this store. This is a niche market that should be all about competence and customer service. and it clearly is NOT.

Batteries Plus - Car Battery Review from Mcdonough, Georgia

batteries plus did not honor my warranty for my car battery. this appears to be standard practice for the company. I tried to contact the owner June Watts to no avail. I was told that there is no way a battery can start your car fine for almost three years and develop a warrabty issue, SO it has to be customer neglect . WHY DO THEY THEN OFFER THIS WARRANTY??? THIS IS FRAUD.

Batteries Plus - Repair Review from Forest, Virginia

My boyfriend and I took his phone there for a simple screen replacement. He sat it on his truck bed while he ate lunch and when he picked it up, it had a spider web crack. No drops and no one touched it. I called the store and the clerk basically told me that I was lying and there was nothing they could do. I'm very frustrated that I paid over $100 for something that lasted 5 days and then being told I was lying. Terrible service. I will never go back

Your paid help needs help

This occurred at the Fairview Heights store: I came in today, 6/28/2015, at ~ 5pm, in the last hour of business for that store. Your store was manned by one person.

I told him that I needed replacement batteries for items I bought over the weekend at various yard sales. These batteries were of one kind only, the ones labeled AG 13. Somehow, he got the wrong kind (L 1154 F), and attempted to insert those new batteries into one of those items and turn on the device with no success. Obviously, they are the wrong kind of battery!

And this was going on while the telephone is ringing. Not once, but five incoming calls! The time the phone rang for the 5th time, I prompted the employee to answer the phone so that we could get on with our business. Sure enough, the caller was to the point, and the phone conversation lasted about a minute.

But in the meantime, I'm about to be stuck with batteries I can't use, a suspicion confirmed when I double-checked coming back home. I intend to go back tomorrow morning to that same store and ask for the proper battery or nix the sale. Really, what level of formal education does your hired help have? Regrettably, I made the mistake of going to Fairview Heights since I didn't have the patience to wait until this coming Friday to wait for the proper batteries, this stated at the Glen Carbon store, where I normally do business at.

Oh, yes, I never had any issues at the Glen Carbon store, why are issues occurring at Fairview Heights??

Fix This.

As someone else said, L1154F, AG13, A76, 357, 303, etc.are all the same battery size and voltage.

There is no reason for any of those not to work in the device. Different manufacturer's numbers for the same battery. Perhaps you accidentally installed them incorrectly the first time without realizing it.

Guest

To JK, I waited for those batteries to arrive in the mail, that and the Holiday is why I've taken so long to reply. Those AG-13 and LR-44 I ordered through the mail worked.

Like I said in the other post, I thought those things were that fussy. Let's just file this under *** Happens".

I agree with the previous comment... do some research.

By blindly commenting you are putting someone`s job on the line, so before going off half cocked on comments think it may be your job one day!

Most likely the rummage sale toys were put in the rummage sale because they no longer work for some reason. remember someone`s TRASH is just that and just changing to newer batteries does not always work, the item may have seen it`s service lift a long time ago and was tossed into that giant pile of "picker`s" hopeful teasures.

Guest

L1154F, AG13, A76, 357, 303, etc. are all the same battery size and voltage.

The number differs by brand. Just an FYI, the stuff you bought from the garage sale must be junk - do some research before bashing a company when they did nothing wrong.

To anonymous, those items I bought at those yard sales DO INDEED work. I ordered AG-13 and LR44 from an online business, and whaddya know?

They all worked. I was guessing these Christmas decorations would be that fussy. Why replace something that works when the replacements are suspect?

Sorry for the delay in posting back, but I was waiting for those batteries in the mail.

Power-Core Replacement Battery Review

Purchase a battery no problem. Took the core back 15 days later. The clerk would not refund the core. He was rude and real *** to me. Another clerk refunded the core and charged me 15 percent. The first clerk should not be working in retail. This happened in store 338 Glendale az. I will never ever buy another from batteries plus.

14 times over cost for cell phone batteries?

My girlfriend and I entered a phoenix location Batteries Plus in search for a cell phone battery replacement for an inexpensive off-the-shelf pre-paid phone from a department store. While one man entered the phone info into his computer, another came across the counter to flirt with my lady friend by directing an off the wall comment to me. No serious harm, I replied with an awkward response since I do not know this worker, but the original man helping appeared agitated over my words. He then told me the battery I need is in stock at a cost of $40. The entire phone barely cost $15 new. I declined, went home to my computer and found one on ebay for $2.89 with free shipping, nearly locally. My impression is that Batteries Plus practice unfair market pricing and their attempts at being awkwardly forward and quick to judge patrons a bit unbecoming for, say, any business. And their prices are ridiculously high.

A third-party battery may not be properly manufactured and the battery’s materials may break down, leading to a short circuit. Li-ion are supposed to have integrated overcharging protection that prevents the battery from becoming overcharged, but it’s possible that this may not work properly on dirt-cheap aftermarket batteries.

Guest

Official replacement batteries can be expensive. When buying from Amazon, these batteries are cheaper but it's not worth the savings.Cheap aftermarket batteries could catch fire, explode, and even burn down your house or physically injure you. While I understand the phone was only $15, next time replace the phone and not the battery.

Watch battery

I purchased a lifetime battery for my watch in Greenville SC cc2013,

it went bad and I had it replaced in Tucson AZ c2014. I'm on vacation in Indpls, IN.

This replacement went bad and I went to Batteries Plus in Indpls. I think 7325 Pendleton Pike. The clerk was real nice, but he said it was not a lifetime warranty. I told him I had it replaced in Tucson, no charge, but my receipt is in Tucson AZ.

He said they could not verify my purchase in SC, because they were an independent franchise. I'm disappointed that I'll be without a watch until I get back to Tucson. My name is Wayne Orr 13401 N Rancho Vistoso, Oro Valley AZ Unit #123, My E-Mail is Rachelorr45@***o.

I called for a specific battery with specific connections. I was told they had the battery and it was in stock. When I got there they gave me a battery rated less than the one I needed. They then tried to sell me one with different connections and told me it would be better than the one I brought in to be replaced. If you don't have a battery then tell me that on the phone and don't make me come in and then try to sell me something that won't work. I will not be going back to Batteries Plus
